PATIENCE
(Summary) 

Galatians 5:22-23
James 1:2-4

Patience is one of the virtues listed as a fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5
It is a virtue that we ought to manifest in our Christian living 

Definition 
Patience is waiting, persevering, enduring discomfort and adversity without complaint.
Patience is not complete in satisfaction, there must be a state of disturbance to invoke the exercise of patience 

Patience is tested when we are irritated, disturbed, frustrated, disappointed but still choose to endure with positivity.
We show patience when we don’t take everything to heart, but choose to eliminate disturbing issues by considering them as petty instead complaining about them.

When physically or psychologically disturbed, it’s okay to express your irritation or frustration about the matter but in a way that won’t cause harm.

WE MUST ENDURE DISCOMFORT WITH PATIENCE 
Below are so,e situations in which we ought to wait upon the Lord patiently. 
  1. During a trial 
  2. For fulfilment of a promise
  3. With a need to be met after prayer 
  4. For satisfaction of a significant desire 

Psalm 40

As a beloved, you ought to beware of EGOCENTRIC PREDICAMENT which is a natural human condition of being aware and concern of ones own thoughts and feelings. 
It is inhumane for a believer to live with a don’t care mentality for other believers. 

In discomfort, we realise the comfort from God’s love
Psalm 119:50,76

We know that God loves us and nothing we face can separate us from His love 
Romans 8:38-39

We should fight against the tendency to see things from our own point of view, but rather see things as a God sees them
God has a good plan for us, and is all powerful to help us ought of whatever we face. He never sees defeat, death, threat or intimidation. 

Patience it’s God must exercise FAITH, which fuels us through tough times with HOPE that things will get well.
Without FAITH, we give in to the control of our desires. 

PATIENCE WITH OTHERS 
Colossians 3:12-14
Romans 12:9-13

Tolerating the discomfort caused by others is a sign of patience
Enduring intolerable ha it’s from friends and relatives would to some extend help them work it out and become better.

Ephesians 4:1-2

CONCLUSION
Whatever that comes our prepares us for a greater purpose. 
Acts 14:22

He that endures till the end shall be saved.

Let your patience be a blessing to us and to those around you. Allow the Holy Spirit to bear this fruit in you. 

Pray for 
  1. Endurance 
  2. Strength to persevere 
  3. Grace to be strong in affliction 
  4. Restoration of lost Hope
